Timestrip® elapsed time indicators set to show improved aftermarket sales for Parker Hannifin
A pan-European aftermarket campaign launches this
autumn for Parker Hannifin, the global leader in motion and control technologies, aimed at stimulating
maintenance and replacement business in the
filtration and dryer business units.
Using a specially designed Timestrip® instruction
card attached to all new installations and replacement components, engineers activate the Timestrip® at
the time of installation and the elapsed time shows
customers when mission-critical servicing and
replacement anniversaries have arrived.
This initiative is a world first in the filtration and
refrigeration markets, especially in the filter, dryer and chiller sectors, where lapses in maintenance schedules
or component brand switching can cause system failure and invalidate warranty contracts.
Timestrip® indicators require no power source to
maintain their elapsed time monitoring and are accurate to within 2 weeks over a 12 month period. The service
and installation teams simply activate the Timestrip® with finger pressure then peel and stick the Timestrip® indicator onto the high-visibility maintenance card,
which is then secured near to the unit. End user
Facility Managers can see at a glance when change
or maintenance schedules are approaching without
ambiguity or the need for expensive alternatives and
the Timestrip® cannot be re-set once activated.
The roll out of the campaign will see a Timestrip® indicator attached to all mainstream Parker Hiross
Zander products to encourage end users to change
filter elements to maintain filtration quality and to
promote service maintenance across their standard
operating procedures.
This is critical for example for maintaining
pre-filters of refrigeration dryers where rust
or solid particle accumulation in the heat
exchangers, which causes partial airflows and
can result in localized freezing and evaporator leakage. Therefore, the filter elements become
essential to protecting the dryers and thus to maintain warranty coverage.
Speaking about the Timestrip® initiative,
Hiross Zander Divisional Aftermarket & Technical Support Manager. Mark Harvey said:
“We see Timestrip® as a key business
partner for us going forward and are
delighted with this cost-effective innovation.
We expect to see a significant uplift in
aftermarket sales and product loyalty as a result of this simple but highly affective solution to maintenance and replacement procedures – with end users benefitting
too, which is a great win/win proposition
to take to market." |
